Pedro Angelo VialPedro Angelo Vial, President of Wobben (a subsidiary of Germany's Enercon) will speak at BWEC 2012 (2-3 April in São Paulo).

Vial is a pioneer of the Brazilian wind industry, having led the Brazilian company since Aloys Wobben decided to enter the market in 1995. Vial oversaw the construction of the first Wobben - Enercon a manufacturing plant in Sorocaba, São Paulo state. The company was a major player in the Brazilian wind market from the outset, supplying over 400 MW of capacity for the Proinfa programme (which predated the current auction system). Last year, Wobben, whose customers include Petrobras, had 42% of the installed wind power capacity in Brazil.

Before joining Wobben, Vial worked at Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, Embraer, and at defence systems company Avibras Indústria Aeroespacial. He was a co-founder of Tecsis, the blade manufacturer which is a key supplier to GE.
