Working alongside solar
Brazilian solar energy has lagged behind wind, at least for utility scale projects. However, solar is starting to make its mark in Brazil. For the afternoon session on Day 1 of BWEC 2013, delegates of co-located event, BSEC (Brazil Solar Energy Conference) 2013 will join together with BWEC delegates for a broad discussion on Brazilian energy strategy - and the optimal role of wind and solar within the overall mix.
Note: BWEC delegates may attend any of the sessions taking place during the co-located BSEC 2013.

Marcelo Anton Pegler Hutschinski - Director, Vestas Brazil, will speak at BWEC 2012. Hutschinski will speak on day two of the conference, a day which is dedicated to the 'wind states' in Brazil. He will speak during the session on Ceará, a key state for wind project development in the North East of Brazil. Vestas has established a manufacturing plant at the Porto do Pecém (port) region, close to the State capital Fortaleza. Vestas has received a number of large orders recently in Brazil, including an order for 127 turbines with total generating capacity of 254 MW from CPFL.
