Ricardo Delneri, the founder and President of Renova Energia, will speak at BWEC 2012 during the financing session on Day 1.
Ricardo Lopes Delneri is the founding partner, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Renova Energia. He graduated in Business Administration from the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation - FAAP in 1992. He has been an entrepreneur ever since graduating and founded and managed one of the first independent asset management companies in Brazil, Tudor Asset Management, responsible for an US$80.0 million variable income portfolio in 1999, the year in which Mr. Delneri sold his participation in the firm. In 2000, Mr. Delneri began his activities in the Brazilian electric sector with the setting-up of Énerbras Centrais Elétricas S.A. He is a Director of the Association of Small and Medium-size Energy Producers – APMPE and is actively engaged in the institution's management and in improving the boundaries of the regulations for renewable energy sources in Brazil.
Delneri established Renova Energia in 2001, with partner Renato Amaral and Fundo InfraBrasil, a fund independently managed by ABN AMRO Real Bank. Renova Energia is a renewable energy generator, with activities in hydroelectric power plants (SHPs) and wind energy. Renova has a portfolio of renewable energy resources in the states of Bahia, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Maranhão, Goiás, Tocantins and Paraná, including 20 wind farms in the state of Bahia with installed capacity of 423 MW. The company is a vertically integrated developer, including prospecting and development of projects in its business model.
Renova listed on Sao Paulo's BM&F Bovespa in 2010. In 2011, Light SA, part owned by Brazilian utility Companhia Energetica de Minas Gerais (Cemeg), took a 26.2% stake in Renova with an investment of R$360 million in 2011. Light and Renova have a strategic partnership through which Renova is Light's vehicle to grow in alternative energy - with a particular focus on wind. |

Paulo Pedrosa will speak during the opening session of BWEC 2012 in Sao Paulo on 2 April.
Paulo Pedrosa assumeed the role of Executive President of ABRACE (the Brazilian Association of Large Energy Users and Free Market Energy Consumers) in 2010. He was previously President of Abraceel (the Association of Commercial Energy Users). Pedrosa was previously a director of Aneel (the Brazilian National Agency of Electrical Energy), between 2001 and 2005. He was also a partner at Celeste Engenharia (a company involved in the development of small hydro projects) and he worked in the past at Electronote, Chesf and the Infrastructure Commission of the Federal Senate.
Throughout his career, he has always worked to achieve efficiency and transparency in the energy sector, believing that this is a critical factor to promote competitivity in the Brazilian economy.
Pedrosa is a Mechanical Engineer, having studied at the Universidade de Brasília (UnB), where he specialised in hydro electricity. He also has an MBA from the Fundação Instituto de Administração (FIA-USP). |

Preben Maegaard will speak at Brazil Wind Energy Conference 2012 on 2 April. His biography is below:
Preben Maegaard
Preben Maegaard, born 1935, is a Danish renewable energy pioneer, author and expert. Since the oil crisis in 1974 he has worked locally, nationally and internationally at the organisational, political and technological level for the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
From 1979 to 1984 he was chairman of the Danish Renewable Energy Association, OVE, www.orgve.dk and since 1991 vice-president of EUROSOLAR, the European Renewable Energy Association www.eurosolar.org and in 2006 appointed senior vice-president. Since 1994 he is member of the jury of The European Solar Prize.
When the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA), was founded in 2001 he became its first president www.wwindea.org, a position he held till 2005. In 2001 he became a chairperson of the Committee of the World Council for Renewable Energy, (WCRE) www.wcre.org. Since 1999 he has been a board member of the European Renewable Energies Federation (EREF) www.eref-europe.org, and since 2003, of the European Federation of Ecosites www.ecosites.net.

Eduardo José Bernini will speak at BWEC 2012 on 2 April. A profile of Eduardo Bernini follows.
An economist at the faculty of Economics and Administration at the University of São Paulo – FEA/USP, Bernini also has post graduate qualifications in the Economy of the Energy sector (from IEE-USP) and Economic Devlopment Theories (PUC-USP). He has studied at the University of Virginia, Darden School, the Senior Executive Programme of the University of California, Berkeley, Hass School of Business, the Berkeley Executive Leadership Programme, the Brazilian Insitute of Corporate Governance (IBGC) and an MBA on Corporate Governance at FIPECAFI.
He is a member of the Editorial Council and a columist at Smart Energy and a Visiting Professor in courses in Corporate Governance for businesses at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas.
He has been a certified Councilor of Administation for the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance, since 2009.
He was previously President of the AES Group in Brazil, EDP-Brazil, VBC Energia and Electropaulo, as well as holding the role of Secretary Adjunto at the Minisrty of Mines and Energy (1994) and the Government of São Paulo (1995/1996).
Currently, Bernini is a member of the Administrative Council of DESA – Dobrevê Energia S.A. and of the Fundação Abrinq pelos Direitos da Criança e do Adolescente and of the Conselho Consultivo do Instituto Fernand Braudel de Economia Mundial, as well as sitting on the Administrative Councils of InPar S.A., Usina Moema Participações and several companies in the energy sector (Eletropaulo, CPFL, CESP, Comgás, CERJ, Bandeirante Energia, for which he holds the role of Vice-President and President of the Administrative Council).
